Saxo Bank is my online brokerage platform of choice for an investor wanting a Swiss-based broker, for the reasons I explained in the previous chapter.
As with any online platform, there’s a fine line between saying you’re going to sign up and actually doing it. What often holds us back is not knowing what to expect in terms of the ease of the process.
If that’s the case for you, this chapter is for you.
I’ll take you through the steps involved in opening an account with Saxo Bank.
Documents and information required to open a Saxo Bank account
As a Swiss resident, you need to provide the following information to open an account with Saxo Bank:
- Full name
- Country of residence
- Cell phone number
- Date and country of birth
- Name of employer
- Information on assets and income
- Information on source of assets and funds
- Investment objectives and experience
- Tax information
- Nationality
- Residence address
- Proof of identity (passport)
It sounds like a lot, but in the end, apart from the information linked to your financial objectives, all the rest is standard information.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
